Pulau Seraya Power Station Stage 1

Singapore

Water Engineers delivered an OxiMax electrochlorination solution for Pulau Seraya Power Station Stage 1 in Singapore. Installed in 2007/08, the project was designed for marine growth / biofouling control and matched to the site's required duty.

Project Overview

Seawater intake and cooling-water infrastructure at Pulau Seraya Power Station Stage 1 required dependable protection against marine growth and biofouling. Uncontrolled biological accumulation can restrict flow, reduce heat-transfer performance and increase the frequency of mechanical cleaning.

Water Engineers supplied an OxiMax MCA Series electrochlorination system with a chlorine production capacity of 2 x 60 kg/hr. The system generates disinfectant on site from saline water, providing controlled treatment directly into the water circuit without the routine transport and storage of bulk chlorine.

The installation provides a practical, continuous approach to biofouling control, supporting reliable water flow, reduced maintenance exposure and improved operating continuity. The modular OxiMax design also supports straightforward operation, monitoring and servicing in demanding industrial conditions.
