Why Chlorine Dioxide?

Chlorine Dioxide (ClO₂) is recognised worldwide as one of the most effective oxidising biocides available for water treatment.

Unlike traditional chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide works through oxidation rather than chlorination, allowing it to rapidly eliminate harmful microorganisms without forming many of the undesirable by-products associated with conventional disinfection.

ClO₂ effectively destroys:

  • Bacteria
  • Viruses
  • Legionella
  • Biofilm
  • Algae
  • Fungi
  • Protozoa
  • Waterborne pathogens

Because Chlorine Dioxide remains highly effective across a broad pH range and penetrates biofilm exceptionally well, it continues disinfecting areas where conventional chlorine treatments often fail—including complex pipework and dead-end sections of water distribution systems.

Safe, Pure and Produced On Demand

Concentrated Chlorine Dioxide cannot be safely transported or stored due to its instability.

The DIOX eChem Series solves this by generating Chlorine Dioxide on-site and on-demand, producing a stable dissolved solution of up to 2,000 ppm exactly when required.

The result is:

  • No transport of hazardous ClO₂ gas
  • No acid storage requirements
  • Lower chemical inventory
  • Improved operator safety
  • Fresh, highly active disinfectant every time

Intelligent Automation

Every DIOX eChem generator incorporates advanced microprocessor control technology that continuously monitors and optimises system performance.

The intelligent controller automatically:

  • Monitors operating conditions
  • Optimises production efficiency
  • Controls chemical generation
  • Protects equipment
  • Displays system status via LCD display and LED indicators
  • Supports remote monitoring and communication options

This fully automated operation provides dependable, unattended performance with minimal operator intervention.

The DIOX eChem Process

At the heart of every DIOX eChem system is the patented OxiMax® CDE Electrolysis Cell.

Using advanced electrochemical technology, Sodium Chlorite is converted directly into high-purity Chlorine Dioxide gas through a highly efficient electrolytic process.

The process follows the reaction:

2 NaClO₂ + 2 H₂O → 2 ClO₂ + 2 NaOH + H₂

The generated Chlorine Dioxide gas is then:

  1. Produced within the patented OxiMax CDE Cell.
  2. Separated using the patented vClone™ gas extraction system.
  3. Dissolved into water.
  4. Stored as a stable Chlorine Dioxide solution at concentrations up to 2,000 ppm.
  5. Automatically dosed into the treatment system as required.

Continuous recirculation maximises conversion efficiency while minimising energy consumption, providing outstanding performance from a compact footprint.

Engineered for Reliability

The DIOX eChem Series has been designed for long service life and minimal maintenance.

Each patented electrolysis cell features:

  • Computer-optimised hydraulic flow paths
  • Long-life Titanium SC12 coated anodes
  • Titanium cathodes
  • Heavy-duty aluminium backing plates for strength and cooling
  • High-efficiency continuous operation

Available as wall-mounted or floor-mounted systems, the compact design minimises installation space while simplifying servicing and maintenance.
